  1. Muscatine Art Center Exhibit: “Great Cover Ups: Quilts of the 19th & 20th Centuries” opening February 6th, 2021

    February 6, 2021 - April 4, 2021 @ Muscatine Art Center

Quilts tell colorful stories that are deeper than the wadding, deeper than the pile of covers layered on a cold winter night. Not so long ago, quilts were considered among the most elaborate and treasured possessions in the typical American home. The exhibition, “Great Cover Ups: Quilts of the 19th & 20th Centuries,” is on view at the Muscatine Art Center from February 6th through April 4th. “The quilts in this exhibition are all part of the Muscatine Art Center’s permanent collection,” explains Melanie Alexander, Director. “The exhibition features about 30 different quilts and most have a Muscatine history connection.”

  2. Muscatine Symphony Orchestra Presents: "A Broadway Valentine" & An Afternoon Drive-Thru Lunch from The Rendezvous Banquet Facility and Catering.

    February 13, 2021, 7:00 PM @ virtual

Muscatine Symphony Orchestra returns to present two new events for the Muscatine community. Through perseverance, determination, and wonderful financial support, the Symphony has created a Valentine’s Day weekend to bring smiles, warmth, and joy to the greater-Muscatine area. To start the day, on Saturday, February 13th, the Symphony will be bringing their annual “A Delicious Combination” event to life in collaboration with local banquet facility Rendezvous Banquet Facility & Catering. In years past, this event has been an evening pre-concert dinner event, but with COVID restrictions and this year’s concert being streamed online and broadcast on Muscatine Access Channel 9, organizers felt an afternoon drive-thru lunch would be a more safe and appropriate style for the event.
